Redgifs Downloader
Paste a Redgifs link and save the video as an MP4, in HD and with its sound. Free, and no sign-up.
How to download a Redgifs video
Three steps, and it takes a few seconds.
1Copy the video link
Open the video on Redgifs and tap the Share button, then Copy link. On a computer you can also copy the address from the browser bar.
2Paste it into the box
Paste the link at the top of this page and press Get video. On a computer, pressing Ctrl+V anywhere on the page does both.
3Pick HD or SD
You see a preview, the length and whether the video has sound. Choose a quality and the MP4 saves to your device.
HD or SD: which one to pick
Both are MP4 files with the original sound. The difference is picture quality and size.
| Feature | HD | SD |
|---|---|---|
| Picture | The highest quality Redgifs has for the video | Lower resolution, made for phones |
| File size | Larger | Much smaller |
| Sound | Included when the video has it | Included when the video has it |
| Format | MP4 | MP4 |
| Best for | Keeping, or watching on a big screen | Mobile data, low storage, quick sharing |
What makes this Redgifs downloader different
Sound stays in
Some downloaders hand you the silent preview file. This one fetches the full video, so the audio comes with it, and a badge tells you if the video has sound before you download.
Real MP4 files
Every download is a standard MP4 that plays in your phone’s gallery, on a computer or on a TV. No converting and nothing added to the picture.
Nothing to install
The downloader runs in your browser. There is no app, no extension and no account, on any device.
No tricks
No popups, no fake download buttons and no countdown timers. The buttons you see are the real ones.
Redgifs links that work
Paste any of these and the tool finds the video. Capital letters and extra text after the name don’t matter.

redgifs.com/watch/videoname - Embed link

If a download doesn’t work
Most problems come down to one of these four.
- The video can’t be found
- The uploader removed it or made it private, or the link was cut short when you copied it. Open the link in your browser to check that it plays, then copy it again.
- The link isn’t accepted
- The link has to be a Redgifs one. If the video is inside a Reddit post, open the video itself and copy its Redgifs link, not the Reddit post’s address.
- It asks you to wait
- Redgifs slows things down when too many requests arrive together. Give it a minute and press Get video again.
- The download has no sound
- Check the badge on the result. If it says “No sound”, the original video is silent and there is no audio to save.
Questions people ask
How do I download a Redgifs video?
Copy the video’s link from Redgifs, paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Get video. Then choose HD or SD and the MP4 saves to your device.
Do downloads include sound?
Yes. If the original video has audio, both the HD and SD downloads include it. The result shows a “Has sound” badge so you know before downloading. If it says “No sound”, the uploader’s video is silent.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free and there is no sign-up. Paste a link and download.
What format and quality do I get?
Videos are saved as MP4, which plays on every phone and computer. HD is the highest quality Redgifs has for that video. SD is a smaller, lower-resolution file that downloads faster and uses less data.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so there is no app to install. On iPhone, use Safari and the file goes to the Downloads folder in the Files app. On Android, Chrome saves it to your Downloads folder.
Is there a watermark on the video?
We add nothing to the video. You get the same MP4 file that Redgifs stores.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?
We don’t set a daily limit. If a lot of requests arrive in a short time, Redgifs can slow things down for a minute; wait briefly and try again.
Can I download several videos at once?
Not yet. The tool handles one link at a time, and each one takes only a few seconds.
Can I download private videos or image galleries?
No. The tool works with public Redgifs videos. Private videos and image posts are not supported.
Why can’t a video be found?
The video was probably removed or made private by its uploader, or the link was cut off when copying. Open the link in your browser to check it still plays, then copy it again.
Do you keep the videos I download?
No. This site does not host or store any video. The file is passed from Redgifs straight to your device, and we don’t ask for any personal details.
Is it legal to download Redgifs videos?
Saving a video for your own private viewing is treated differently from re-uploading or selling it, and the rules depend on where you live. Download only what you have the right to save, and never repost someone else’s video without permission.
