How do I download a Redgifs video?
Copy the video’s link from Redgifs, paste it into the box on the home page and press Get video. Then choose HD or SD and the MP4 saves to your device.
Where do I find a video’s link?
Open the video on Redgifs and use the Share button, then Copy link. On a computer you can also copy the address from the browser’s address bar.
Which links does it accept?
Redgifs watch links, embed links, image links and direct file links all work, and so does the video’s name on its own. Reddit post links are not accepted; copy the Redgifs link from the post instead.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free and there is no sign-up of any kind.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?
We don’t set a daily limit. If many requests arrive in a short time, Redgifs can slow things down for a minute. Wait briefly and try again.
Can I download several videos at once, or a whole profile?
Not at the moment. The tool handles one video link at a time.
Quality, format and sound
What format are the downloads?
MP4, which plays on every phone, computer and TV without converting.
What is the difference between HD and SD?
HD is the highest quality Redgifs has for that video. SD is a lower-resolution version made for phones: a much smaller file that downloads faster.
Do downloads include sound?
Yes, when the original video has sound. Both HD and SD include it. The result shows a “Has sound” or “No sound” badge before you download.
Why does my downloaded video have no sound?
If the badge said “No sound”, the uploader’s video is silent. Otherwise check your device’s volume and silent switch, and try another video player.
Is there a watermark?
We add nothing to the video. You get the same file that Redgifs stores.
Can I download as a GIF or as audio only?
No. Downloads are MP4 video. You can convert an MP4 to a GIF yourself afterwards; our guide on turning a Redgifs video into a GIF explains how.
Devices
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari. The file saves to the Downloads folder in the Files app. To add it to Photos, open it, tap Share and choose Save Video.
Does it work on Android?
Yes, in Chrome or any other browser. The MP4 saves to your Downloads folder.
Do I need to install an app or extension?
No. The downloader is a web page and works in the browser you already have.
When something goes wrong
Why can’t a video be found?
It was probably removed or made private by its uploader, or the link was cut short when copying. Open the link in your browser to check it still plays, then copy it again.
Why does it say my link isn’t a Redgifs link?
The link has to point to redgifs.com. Links to Reddit posts or other sites are not accepted, even if the post shows a Redgifs video.
Why am I asked to wait?
Redgifs limits how many requests it answers in a short time. Wait about a minute and press Get video again.
Can I download private videos or image galleries?
No. Only public Redgifs videos are supported.
Privacy and legal
Do you keep the videos I download?
No. This site does not host or store any video. The file is passed from Redgifs straight to your device and nothing is kept on our side.
Do you collect personal information?
We don’t ask for any. There is no account or email. Like every website, our server receives basic technical details such as your IP address when you visit; the privacy policy explains this.
Is it legal to download Redgifs videos?
Saving a video for your own private viewing is treated differently from re-uploading or selling it, and the rules depend on where you live. Download only what you have the right to save, and never repost someone else’s video without permission.
I’m a creator. How do I stop my video being downloaded here?
We don’t host your video; Redgifs does, so removing it is a request for Redgifs. Once it is removed or made private there, it stops working here at once. If you also want it blocked from this tool, send us the link using the details on the DMCA page.

No. This is an independent tool and is not connected to or endorsed by Redgifs.
